Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino is a sport-weight blend of 55% merino wool, 33% acrylic microfiber and 12% cashmere. Each 50 g ball holds 137 yds (125 m) and knits to 25 stitches and 34 rows over 4" on US 3 (3.25 mm) needles. Debbie Bliss is one of our own brands. The cashmere is what you feel first: it takes the edge off the merino, so the fabric is soft enough to wear against a newborn’s skin. The microfiber is what makes it practical — a next-to-skin yarn that still goes in the machine, which is why it has stayed a default for baby cardigans, bonnets, booties and shawls. At sport weight it holds fine cables and lace patterns cleanly, so it works just as well for adult accessories and lightweight garments. Care: delicate machine wash at 30°C, do not tumble dry, dry flat, cool iron.
