Are you familiar with our lovely alpaca yarn, Soft Alpaca? It’s the same high quality and fabulous fiber, spun in the thinnest version. Soft Alpaca Lace is made from 100% alpaca from Peru. Wonderfully soft and very durable. Soft Alpaca Lace is extra thin and fine, which makes it a superb choice for more delicate knitting with lots of details. As the name suggests, it’s perfect for knitting lace when you want pretty and delicate lace designs. You’ll get an exquisite result if you use Soft Alpaca Lace for projects like an eyelet shawl. The result will be super light, but you’ll still find that it’s nice and warm since the fibers are hollow and isolating. Our lace version is spun from the same type of raw yarn and fine fibers that we use for Hobbii Soft Alpaca, and the colors match. It gives you a whole new set of options to play around with the knitting tension and knitting with thinner needles. If you want to play around with different shades to create interesting colors, you can combine Soft Alpaca with lace in a different shade. We also recommend that you try Soft Alpaca Lace as the second strand in combination with wool yarn, perhaps as a replacement for mohair. Alpaca doesn’t shed like the smooth mohair fibers, and it’s also incredibly soft against your skin.
